The Nikki Waterhouse Trust recently started working with The Encephalitis Society in Malton.
Encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain tissue and is a rare yet serious disease that can be life-threatening. Most people who are diagnosed with severe encephalitis will experience complications which may include: loss of memory, behavioral/personality changes, epilepsy.
The Trust is one of the proud sponsors of the Encephalitis Society Family Weekend – a special weekend away for families affected by encephalitis which allows the families to enjoy spending time together away from their day to day lives. The weekend is full of interesting and educational activities to encourage teamwork requiring young people to support and encourage each other, building confidence and friendships.
