Our fundraising friends and Sallys story

FUNDRAISING FRIENDS

Kate Twiddle, Jess Richardson, Ben fireman, Mitch Barret and Vera Van Gool all took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge with the help and guidance  of Gary Robson from Hiking Adventures UK . The challenge is to climb Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside, which is a distance of 24 miles in under 12 hours.

Despite sore knees, achey hips and blistered feet, we smashed it and raised £1400.

Kate and Jess have raised over £10,000 for charity’s doing fitness events since 2021. They were even nominated for a York Community Pride Award.

In 2021, they squatted for Teenage Cancer Trust, ran a mile every day for a month in support of MIND, and covered 100km to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Together, they raised an impressive £3,048!

Then, in 2022, their collective efforts shifted towards supporting Crohn’s & Colitis UK. They ran two miles every day, took on a 10k challenge, and conquered the Yorkshire 10-miles. they raised an amazing £3,052!

And in 2023, they continued their remarkable journey. They covered 100 miles in March to support dementia, took on the Three Peaks Challenge for Nikki Waterhouse trust, and recently completed the York 10k & half marathon to raise funds for Parkinson’s.

Their final challenge of 2023 is the Yorkshire 10miles for Andy’s Man club.  Find out more about them at @fundraisingfriendsjessandkate

SALLYS STORY

Sally Mook and her friend Siobhan Rowland have always been big supporters of the trust. Sally a personal and good friend to Nikki stepped up and has taken part in many sponsored events.. mainly running (and she is pretty good at it!) Sally along with her friend took part in their very first marathon earlier this year. It looked pretty tough but raised thousands of pounds along the way.

Sally has always been into running and the training looked gruelling and the amount of hard work with the training certainly paid off and we couldn’t be prouder. Thanks Sally and Siobhan you are super stars!!!
