Out of all the events we have, the annual Golf Day in association with Hunters Property Group remains to be our most successful day, raising thousands of pounds for good causes including Acorns hospice in the midlands and Martins House Childrens Hospice.
The event is enjoyed by many and is hosted by Easingwold Golf Club who continue to support us after many years. Their reception is always welcoming – breakfast started early with bacon butties, allowing our golfers to get ready for a busy day ahead.
This year we saw companies associated with the property industry from across the country and our primary sponsor was Keith Hollinrake and his company Getbusyliving. A guide to our generous sponsors are found at the bottom in the gallery – a big thank you also to Peter Turpin associates Ltd and Cannell Signs.
A shot gun start at 11.30am on a very sunny Friday started off the first team to make their way around the 18 hole course. Playing golf in the heat of British summer can be hard so were welcomed at the Halfway house with refreshments, kindly sponsored by Flatfair. Our popular Pimms stop point was also part of the course and generously donated by Robin & Glynis Frew.
Our teams made their way around the stunning course back to the club house where they were welcomed by a scrumptious Hog Roast to enjoy.
During the day our guests were invited to take part in the raffle which was based in the club house and lead by Chris Kendra who takes care of the money! The prizes were generously donated by staff, friends, colleagues throughout the industry and we cannot thank them enough. Over £1000 was raised in the raffle alone!!
No annual golf day would be complete without our famous auction and awards at the end of the day. Congratulations to our winners of the day and a big thank you to everyone who donated to the auction – this year up for grabs we had – A night with Jack Dee, Dinner for two at the Durham Ox – Hot Air balloon ride, Week in a stunning north Yorkshire Cottage, Ladies bicycle, Bottle of Filey Bay Whiskey – signed by Rishi Sunak, A round of golf with Ed, two tickets to watch Liverpool V Leicester City at Anfield and the one and only chocolate cake – famously made by Chris Kendra!
Congratulations if you were lucky enough to get the highest bid!!
We would love it if you could share your day with us with the hashtag #nikkiwaterhousetrust on Instagram and please like and share the posts of the day with your followers.
A full amount raised is still being counted so watch this space – but in the meantime – thank you for your support and we cannot wait to see you all again next year!!!
THANK YOU !!!! xx
