The Nikki Waterhouse help many local individuals and charities which help young people in the UK. This year we have made a contribution to the amazing charity Changing Lives.
Changing Lives are based in the North East of England and the funding they have received has been instrumental in supporting their Young Person to access Local Links in the community. We have funded a bike to allow a young person to attend a local Gym which has seen a dramatic change in his mental health and well being. The young person has also made positive friendships within the community which has ultimately reduced their concerns or isolation for the young person. The bike has also allowed the young person to manage their money more effectively by not having to rely on public transport and given them the practical skills they need to go on our roads and understanding road safety.
We have also provided a communal laptop and mobile phone which has been instrumental in the young people accessing a wealth of educational resources, as well as enabling them to complete on line assignments without having to travel to a collect to access their IT facilities. The young person has been able to increase their independent skills as they have been able to communicate with the peers and teachers of their location
